2026 World Cup schedule and venue confirmed... Final match to be held at MetLife Stadium
The schedule and venue for the 2026 FIFA North-China World Cup have been officially confirmed.
FIFA officially announced the schedule for the 2026 World Cup through its website on Thursday. The event will be hosted jointly by three countries: the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.
First, the opener will be held on June 11, 2026 at the Estadio Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The final will be held on July 19 at MetLife Stadium, home of the New York Giants and the New York Jets in the National Football League (NFL).
The previous World Cup, which had 32 participants, was reorganized to have 48 participants from this year's event. As a result, the tournament has been extended to 39 days, the longest in history. There are 104 matches in total.
The group stage will be divided into 12 groups of four teams and will be held over 17 days in 16 stadiums in three countries. The round of 32 tournaments will begin on June 28. The interval is a minimum of five days for the group stage and a minimum of six days for the round of 32 tournament.
