Racing Post acquires ICS Limited
Racing Post is pleased to announce it has completed the acquisition of ICS Media Group, the leading multimedia content provider and digital marketing agency with extensive expertise across sports and gaming. Leeds-based ICS’s many clients include major bookmakers, leading publishers, radio stations and mobile networks.
This latest acquisition expands Racing Post's B2B's growing operation, broadens its content offering and continues the company’s diversification beyond racing. The association allows Racing Post and ICS to combine their respective strengths – ICS’s position as a provider of content and digital marketing services internationally plus Racing Post’s scale, brand and data.
It is business as usual for both companies with no planned operational changes, ICS’s four directors – Ian Holding, Cheryl Westerman, Matt Roche and Charlotte Green – will continue to run the business on a day-to-day basis, with the main office remaining in Leeds.
Alan Byrne, Racing Post Chief Executive and Editor-in-Chief, said, “We are really looking forward to working with the talented team at ICS. We have admired their work for a long time and are delighted to be joining forces with them. We believe that combining the strengths of the two companies will allow us to offer our customers a range of first-rate products and services.”
Ian Holding from ICS added, “We’re incredibly excited to embark on this partnership and truly believe Racing Post will help us to build on what ICS has achieved so far in a number of disciplines. The Racing Post team share our vision, passion and values and we are excited by the many opportunities that lie ahead both in the U.K. and overseas.”
ICS were supported by Henton & Co, with legal advice provided by a team at Lupton Fawcett led by corporate partner Daniel McCormack, who commented, “The shareholders have built ICS into an incredible business over the years and it’s great that the deal with Racing Post has completed. I’m really pleased that the Lupton Fawcett team has been able to support them through the process.”
