Fix Swiss system (bye issue)
At this moment, if you run a Swiss style tournament with odd number of players, seeding is completely broken. The whole idea of Swiss system is to pair the players according to points. At this moment, system pairs is not using this rule, but probably games won - major flaw - it's not including points for "byes". Look at my tournament:
After first round I had 4 players with 2 pts - the system paired two of them with players that lost their games. After second round I have two platers with 4 pts and they are not paired to play against each other! With recommended setting with 3 games that would be enough, while in this case I will have a situation, where the winner will be determined by a tie breaker, not the results. Therefore player with bye in the first round has no chance to win!
The only workaround I can think of, is to use additional player as "bye", but that will render "tie-breaker" score useless, as "bye" is not a player. Anyone who got it will get additional, undeserved points. Therefore you will need to track the tie breaker separately.
Please fix this, as this is a really great site for tournaments!
Sorry for not giving this attention ages ago, but here we are at last!
Hello there. Is this bug fixed right now after developers reply? I wanna know since I need to start a swiss type tournament and wanted to know if better to have even number of players, if odd is still buggy.
Thanks! Much appreciated! Better late than never!
This error still exists. It should be a fairly simple fix to use the actual score versus whatever is being done currently.
5 years after the post the problem remains... Very odd... I guess no one ever reads support threads...
Yet another fundamental issue that has never been fixed years later. Is anyone at the controls of this site?

Yeah, the issue seems to be that Byes are not counted when pairing up. I had someone on 6pts (where he had 3 for a win and 3 for a bye) and he was paired with someone on 1pts, even though there were lots on 3pts. http://challonge.com/sewc2014wildcard1

I don't know about pairings, but I can attest that the Standings currently do include the full points for each bye. Oddly, though, I set a bye to four points (equal to a win in our tournament) and the players are awarded the full four points for a bye, but the standings tables claims a bye is "+1.0"...?
