Support multi-player games
I'd like to be able to use Challonge for three-player games (with different options i.e., one winner per game or points distributed based on finishing order, etc.)

You can now select “Free For All” for tournament type to run matches with 3-16 players. You can advance any number of players per match, and they’ll get paired in the next round. Once a round is reduced to 1 match, that becomes the final round.
Please give it a shot and contact us at helpdesk@challonge.com with feedback. We’ll add additional flexibility to the feature in the future, but it’s already powerful and opens up some exciting possibilities!

Instead of a new tournament type, "number of players per match" should just be an additional option for each tournament type.. And in round robin/swiss you get points depending on you place, in single/double elimination you set the number of players that advance (in the last tournament set, the grand finals, the positions are the final positions and noone advances)

Great start.
Now, add it to Group Stage, add it as an option for double elimination,

It's awesome that this feature is now here, but it definitely needs more flexibility and customization.
It would be awesome to set free for all rounds for the group stage, so they can be used as early eliminators. -

Awesome! We can use all four lanes on our Pinewood Derby track! Thanks for putting in the effort for this!

Great news! However this is not yet customizable enough for me. Ideally i would like the same kind of mechanisms in Free for All, but in double elimination instead of single elimination like it is implemented right now.
More precisely, what I would like is a double elimination tournament with more than 2 players per match, where a set number of players win each match (eg 4 players per match, 2 winners per match).
Could this be possible to extend this to allow such tournaments in the future?
Thanks

I am making a tournament with 4 teams having 2 winners to move on each bracket towards the finals still with 4 teams and just winning 1 person. This website has a lot of potential but it is not flexible to be able to customize fully. Please allow more flexibility as tournaments nowadays is not black and white.

This is so important for what I am trying to do, and as MrFogel has said (over a month ago), it has been over a year, what is happing challonge?

Yes! We want 4 players with one winner. That winner moves on to the next match of 4 players, and so on until we reach the end of our bracket. We also want to aggregate score as well as having a differential in case of ties.

This would be extremely helpful for 4+ player games in Mario Kart tournaments

For example, I run a survivors bracket with double elimination. For example i take 16 people, draw them in groups of four. have them all play a game. the top two scores move on in the winners bracket, the bottom two go in the losers bracket.

Trying to organise a mario kart 8 tournament and it's spitting out a 188 rounds cause I can't combine them into groups of 4 or 8

Adding 4 player, where 2 winners can advance would be a solid addition as well

This would seriously be great and by far the most important added feature. I will sign up for the pro version if this could be implemented.

Wow, when i saw this thread was from 2010, i was not expecting a 2017 comment to say that this still hasn't been implemented.
