Allow A Fixed Number of Rounds for Swiss Events, Even If Less Than Minimum Needed for Winner
I like to run Swiss events that are a fixed number of rounds, regardless of the number of participants. Challonge! forces Swiss events to have a minimum number of rounds required to have a clear winner.

Huge agree. There's no logic in the number of rounds that Challonge forces, anyways- it's fine without there being a clear winner, but we're still expected to run a minimum number of rounds based on entrants??

I have used this resource to run casual Magic: the Gathering events. With the block of time that goes into CCG tournaments, it is often necessary to limit the number of rounds, even if it means that a "true winner" wouldn't emerge. But... that's what the tie-breakers can be for (so long as the participants are aware before entering the event). Could you make it so that if I have 9 players, I can chose to end the event at 3 rounds? Or place a way to pause the tournament before assigning a bye for the next round (it is difficult to reverse calculate the standings since the bye is assigned automatically). Thanks!

Yes! I run a small Pokémon tournament each week, having 9-12 players and 4 rounds are just too many. I need to be able to change the amount of rounds.
