Provide a Consolation Bracket option
I am perplexed that there is no option for spawning a Consolation bracket from a Tournament draw. Consolation events, where players who have lost in the main draw vie for meaningful prizes are common, and should not be more difficult to implement than 'double-elimination' events. Currently, to implement a Consolation, we must treat it as an entirely different tournament, which doubles all of our admin chores and wreaks chaos in communications and station management.

As a follow-up to my comment below, we do have a few other tweaks in our Main/Consolation brackets that are a bit different than using your double-elimination with the work-around. If you are interested I can send you our brackets, and discuss the minor differences. One of the key ones is that we have a different structure for the Loser's bracket when the Main tournament size is between 25 and 31 players :) (close to the 'perfect' bracket of 32). For brackets of 32 or less, we limit the number of rounds to 5 in the Consolation, and achieve this by making the four quarterfinal losers in the Main go to the round of 16 in Consolation (for bracket sizes 25-31 in the Main). Your algorithm places these four players in the round of 8 of the Consolation, which necessitates adding a 6th round to the Consolation bracket. Again, this would be easier to see if you had our standard brackets to compare to. Thanks, Rich

I am the 'bracket guy' for Albert's club, and I think we have figured out a work-around to use your pure double-elimination brackets that will work for us...though it would be better still if you were able to make Main/Consolation a choice, with no workarounds. Our club pays 4 spots in the Main event, and these four winners do not play in Consolation. Everyone else does go to Consolation upon their first loss. Our workaround is to use your double-elimination brackets, and then change the labels in the Consolation bracket to "SKIP THIS ROUND" for the two rounds were you slot the Main prize winners to move down to Consolation. I have set up an example for a tournament where we have 23 players in the Main to show you how this looks for us. Notice the revised round labels, particularly in the Loser's Bracket. I think this work-around will work for us, but it would be great if you were able to provide this, essentially removing the placement of the top 4 in Main down to Consolation, so that we did not need to have the "SKIP THIS ROUND" labels.
