'Shocked' Postecoglou Could Leave Tottenham...Here comes "Reasons Why It's Not Conflicting With Fans"!
It has been reported that manager Enze Postecoglou may leave Tottenham.
Postecoglou had his first season with Tottenham on a rollercoaster ride. He competed in the top flight at the start of the season, receiving rave reviews for his aggressive and dynamic football unlike his predecessors. However, since the middle of the season, they have struggled with set-piece issues as well as the space behind their defense.
They lost a match against Manchester City on the 15th (Korea time) by losing to Aston Villa in fourth place and missing out on the UEFA Champions League (UCL). They need to keep their fifth place in the final.
Postecoglou expressed dissatisfaction with some fans' actions during the match. Tottenham fans claimed that they intentionally lost to Manchester City to prevent their rival Arsenal from winning the title. "We will definitely win," Postecoglou said in expressing his displeasure. "Tottenham has a weak foundation both inside and outside," he said after the match, pointing out the club's situation
There was even talk that Postecoglou could leave Tottenham at the end of the season when the atmosphere was not good. England's "Team Talk" explained on the 16th, "After Postecoglou turned his back on the club and fans, Tottenham can find a way out."
The conflict with Manchester City wasn't the only cause. The outlet added, "It's not just because of Postecoglou's displeasure. Premier League teams have analyzed Tottenham's style and found a strategy. I already feel that he is at the highest level I can reach for the club." Analysts say that his performance earlier this season may be the best Tottenham can achieve right now.
"We need a few more transfer windows," Postecoglou said, referring to the importance of recruiting players. He also said when the set-piece issue arose, "now is the time to improve the overall performance level of the team, not just the set-piece."
"Team Talk" also stressed that "Coach Postecoglou will need more players and time to repeat his performance at the beginning of this season."
