Numbering individual Swiss matches
As a tournament organizer for local CCG tourneys, we've been looking for something a bit more reliable and came across Challonge. After running our tournament using your website, everything worked perfectly but the issue is this:
Is there any way to number the match-ups in the round? This becomes pretty important when most of the people are out of town and have no idea who they're sitting across from (i.e. each match is assigned a 'table')
6 votesPruning our feature request forum and found this. A while back, we started labeling all matches in Challonge with letters, so that should take care of this. Thanks!

Permissions improvement
Let people inserted as Admin in the "Share admin access to this tournament" option finally able to start and finish the tournament!
It's sad that if I create the tour but I'm not at home in the date fixed, I have to tell my password to people in order not to restart/redo the whole bracket thing.

Remove score and winner of match.
The ablility to remove the score and winner of a match would be very useful.

Edit player names who have registered
It's kind of annoying as a tourney admin when someone with a challonge account no-shows and I can't edit their name on my brackets. I often have back-ups waiting to play and when they have to replace a no-show who has registered on the site their name cannot be added to the bracket in that person's place. It would be really helpful if this was changed.
4 votesadmins can now sub new people in for registered participants after challonges are published (including after they’re started)

Add the ability to set sign up limit
Currently the limit is forced to be 256 max, would like the ability to force sign ups to be fewer (128, 64, etc)

Let me view/edit bracket outside of scroll box. It is currently cumbersome to view whole bracket.
It is very difficult to get a good idea of the whole bracket in the view/edit window because the view is needlessly limited to a small box within the browser view that I have to scroll. I have a big monitor and could probably see a whole 64-person DE bracket within a window, but the scrollbox limits me to a very small viewable area of the window.

Delete Score and Winner previus asigned
Somtime i put score for WO, ex. 0-1 0-1 0-1 winner player B.
but in the day the player acord play the game another day. and not permit delete he score, and the winner, only permit put 0-0 and TIE result.3 votesI’m not able to reproduce this issue now, so I’m assuming it has been fixed. I made some bug fixes related to score editing a while back, so this was likely handled then.

Allow players to re-enter their match scores
Sometimes players make errors when entering their match scores, and thus need to edit the results. Currently, they must contact an administrator to edit the scores. This can be slightly inconvenient for both parties, and it would be nice if players could make these edits on their own.
For security purposes, perhaps a player can make any edits to the match results initially, but once future matches are played, they can't make edits that affect which matches would have been played (e.g. they can't change the winner, just the scores). A notification could also be sent to both players and…

Doubt
Hey man, very nice site!
Is there a way to seed (for example) only the top 8 players in a 32 man tournament (the rest would be seeded randomly)?
hope you can understand what i wrote, english is not my first language ^^
3 votesThanks! Your best bet would be to randomize seeding them drag the top 8 players into the top seeds.

Front End UI Match Identifier does not match API Match Identifier
Recently Challonge updated their front end UI and with the bracket matches have been updated to be identified by a number instead of a letter. However the API still returns matches back with the identifier labeled as a letter.
This makes it impossible to identify what match is where in the bracket. And has brought my development to a standstill.
3 votesI just pushed out an update for this. New match records will have a “suggested_play_order” integer value that matches the Challonge front end. I’ll make a note to backfill old match records as well, but it might be a week or so.

Add Completed Tournaments to Organization
I think organizations would benefit greatly if organizers were given the opportunity to connect completed, previously unconnected tournaments to their organization. As of right now, if an organizer starts a tournament separate from an organization, there is no way to fix this at any point after the creation of the event.
I have hosted multiple tournaments in somewhat of a "series," and for organizational purposes, it would be convenient to have them all grouped in the same organization. The first two of these tournaments are separated because I was not aware of the organization feature at the time (it may…
3 votesHello,
This is already possible. A user who organized a tournament as an individual can change its host to an organization they belong to (from a tournament’s settings page). Note – this will change the tournament’s URL to include the org’s subdomain.
Let us know if we’re missing something or if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Provide JSON Exports of Completed Brackets
It would be sweet if brackets could be exported to JSON. It would provide tournament organizers a quick and convenient way to submit a completed bracket to an automated system for things such as data-mining, season-long record keeping/scoring, etc.
3 votesThis is currently possible with our API. After getting a key from your account settings, you can request JSON or XML for your tournament, including its matches and participants:
API documentation can be found at http://challonge.com/api
Hope this works for you!

add MVCI to game list please.
It's been long enough, my ranking site uses your API to pull stats and I have no way to get it to display MVCI...
3 votesDone! Sorry for not verifying that game sooner. Existing tournaments associated with a bunch of variations of the same game are all attached to “Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite” now.

Add the dutch language
Me and most of my friends use challonge to create tournament, but the most frequently asked question is: "what does this mean"? thats why i would like to help translate the site to dutch, but there's no option to do this.
3 votesI added Dutch to the list of languages on our translation site, so you can contribute by navigating to challonge.com/translate
Thanks for your help!

Move the advertisements to a less predominant portion of the pages.
For example the advertising banner is on the page above the bracket view. I am sure you could find a better way to get that advertising in without getting in the way of such an important feature.
I love your guys work BTW.

Allow picking the winner without score entry
It's not always interesting to track the score of the two competing participants, so being allowed to simply select a winner without entering a score would be useful. If the score boxes are empty don't nag about entering the score but simply use the selected winner.
3 votesThere’s now a bracket option for this: “Quick advance – report winners only, not scores”

Add technical defeat
A checkbox showing that loser didn't actually lose anything, but was disqualified / decided to quit tournament.
2 votesIf this is the case, the tournament admin should remove the player from the tournament – this will result in the player’s name being crossed out in the bracket and auto-forfeited matches.
Easier avenues for contacting the admin and other players are coming soon.

Auto-Advance Byes
A small feature to add, but if you could automatically advance the matches where a bye is involved, such as sending the current player on to the next round, and then in double elimination, moving the bye directly to the losing round, and when the opponent of the bye is sent down to the losers' bracket, automatically advance that person to the next round as well.
Again, a small feature to add since you can just manually advance someone with a bye.
1 voteByes are already automatically advanced in the brackets we generate. Please let me know if I’m misunderstanding your request.

Taking back a removed player
Once a player is removed from participants after the tournament started, the action cannot be taken back. Would it be possible to "undo" such action?
1 voteRemoved participants can now be reactivated. This won’t undo the forfeiting of the participant’s matches, but that can be done separately from the bracket view.
Thanks for the suggestion!

allow "text attachments" to games
Because instead of attaching replay files to a match, we could just click on a link to http://ggtracker.com where we can see analysis and download the replays ourselves if we wanted to.
I really love Challonge.com by the way! Keep up the good work guys!
1 voteThis was completed a while back. Sorry for not closing this request until now!
