@Staffan thanks for your feedback! Totally agree with you. Our current beta targets a pretty specific setup - selling tickets and plugging ticket purchasers in as participants - but we'll be revising it to make it more flexible. Collecting 1+ tournaments into a nice mini-site is a nice minimal use of the feature that we need to handle.

Indonesian is about 16% translated. If you're interested in contributing, you can get started here: http://challonge.com/translate

Once it's 25-30+% translated, we'll make it publicly available on the site.

Agreed. We're still intending to offer icon sets, and possibly custom uploads as well. For now, I'll mention some secret functionality with that icon field. With the API, you can use country flags by setting the icon field to "flags/{2-letter country code}" — e.g. flags/fr, flags/us, etc.

Understandable. We hope to bring this payment option back in the future, even if just for one-time payments.

Thanks for the suggestion! We'll be overhauling the log into a more robust activity feed - clickable log activities that pull up match details are definitely on the table.

When we have a tournament view tailored for large projections, we'll give this a closer look. In the meantime, you should be able to use the Google Cast Chrome extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-cast/boadgeojelhgndaghljhdicfkmllpafd?hl

Thanks for your feedback on this. We're working on improving the dashboard and organization pages considerably, so I'll hopefully have more to share in the coming month or so. Better sorting and archiving of completed tournaments will definitely be among the improvements.

We've been holding the ship together part-time, but I'll finally be working full-time starting in July.

We have several improvements we'll be rolling out to our website and tournament system before venturing into leagues. You're right that leagues aren't overly complex to build, but we're currently tight on development time and can't yet accommodate this. Check in later on and I'd be happy to provide another update. Thanks!

Gemajel — thanks for your feedback! We're working on supporting double elimination groups for two-stage tournaments, and once that's ready, it'll support what you're wanting to do. In your case, you'll have 1 double elimination group in stage 1, with 8 or 16 players advancing, and then a single elimination bracket in stage 2.

If we get funded, native apps will most certainly get attention. Until then, we're prioritizing developments as best we can. Our next gen brackets and API v2 will make mobile apps far more likely and sustainable in the long-term, especially if we get help from developers in the Challonge community.

It's true - the API is definitely lagging and overdue for revisions. Once two-stage tournaments ship this week and the dust settles, one of our priorities will be catching the API up and improving quality and usability throughout the site.

Sorry, tons of requests out there, and we develop part-time. Thanks for the reminder about this. Once we ship group stages (450 votes, alpha testing now), we'll have time to spare for features like this one. Trying to get full-time as well, and if I do, we'll be getting about 20X the amount done.

were you hoping to add country flags, or arbitrary icons?

Guys, thanks for the suggestion. Are there any docs out there that explain this process of reseeding in more detail?

Now that we have a check-in feature, there should be less need to drop players in the first round. We also have a group stage feature that’s incredibly close to being released, so that may further reduce the need for this — groups can be played, and then group advancers can be positioned in the final bracket as you like.

Ahniwa, did this issue come up during a Swiss tournament for you? I definitely see how this is needed for that format. For other formats, it's harder to grasp and may add confusion for admins not needing the feature.

Thanks for sharing this suggestion! We totally agree, so it's a matter of prioritizing this. We're pretty tight on resources and time, so more votes or comments here will definitely help keep this on our radar.

Nick – thanks for your feedback! Totally agree that we should do something so you don't have to enter the same settings hundreds of times. I'll queue this up for discussion and get some ideas on our roadmap.

The winner/tie selection is actually an extra precaution for making score reporting *less* error prone. If your selection contradicts the scores you entered, you'll get a warning message, but you can proceed anyway if you have good reason to do so.

We'll be revisiting the score reporting pop-up and improving it once we roll out some new features related to it.

As for re-opening tournaments to fix mistakes, we may eventually allow this, but for now, match results should be checked over before ending a tournament (this step: "Next Move – All scores have been submitted. Once you've reviewed the results and made final edits: [End the Tournament]")

    Hello,

Are you behind a firewall or corporate network that may be filtering web traffic? It sounds like you're not getting our javascript libraries.

    Can you access this?

    Hi Mark,

Sorry for missing your earlier message. The Google API Group was just introduced recently and is for change and availability notices only.

What language are you writing in? The PHP and Ruby libraries have some good snippets for getting started; not sure about the Python one. Whatever the language, there's likely a solid REST library that will get you started.

As far as _rendering_ the brackets goes, we don't have any samples for that currently. However, we're completely redoing our bracket back-end and renderings this year, and API users will be given more guidance for creating their own.

    Best,
    Dave
