An error occurred while saving the comment AdminChallonge (Admin, Challonge) commentedChris,
Yeah, I agree that confirming the winner gets annoying. I'm currently working on a feature that will address this. A specific game title will need to be selected for each Challonge, and that game will determine whether or not high or low score wins. For less common games, I'll add some generic catch-all categories.
As you can imagine, selecting a specific game also opens up tons of other exciting possibilities!

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminChallonge (Admin, Challonge) commentedrunning a bracket with 24 players accomplishes this already. players who would receive a free win are advanced with a bye.
please let me know if I'm misunderstanding, though.

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminChallonge (Admin, Challonge) commentedYes, we'll be looking into this more once we start categorizing tournaments by game. I had been trying to avoid maintenance of a game list, but doing so offers too many benefits to ignore (stats, per-game customizations, linking to game profile info -- e.g. battle.net for SC2). Look for steps to be taken in this direction during the next month or so.

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminChallonge (Admin, Challonge) commentedThanks for the feedback! Part of your request is already possible by enabling the "sequential_pairings" option for a tournament. This option results in pairings being made straight down the list (1v2, 3v4, etc.)
I agree that drag-and-drop would be a nice feature as well, so I'll keep that on the list.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I'm working on two-stage tournaments right now (1st stage round robin or Swiss, 2nd stage single or double elim), but once that's complete, 4 man group play sounds like a great addition to the 1st stage options.

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminChallonge (Admin, Challonge) commentedSorry, we currently don't offer a solution for that type of tournament, though I'll consider developing something for it as game-specific functionality is added to Challonge (for FPS games, etc.)
Thanks for the suggestion!

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminChallonge (Admin, Challonge) commentedNo, we don't offer such a feature yet. We're still contemplating whether or not it's worth the effort to implement this. The liability of handling fees and supporting the system is likely not worth the middle-man charge we would collect.

For now, I can pass along a Challonge secret regarding this. If you tack a “?slim=1” on to the end of the sign-up page URL, it becomes iframe embed friendly.
Example: http://challonge.com/tournament/signup/ip7jr5whuo?slim=1

Is that sufficient for your request, or did you also want the ability to embed a participant list _after_ an event is published?
While our default theme will remain neutral, our next big release in October will make themes available to everyone for embeds (currently just for paying customers). Looking more into the future, we'll be spending a lot of time on the look and functionality of our brackets in 2013, so thanks for sharing your thoughts!
