incorporate dates and times into tourneys and round robin schedules
The first round of changes for this were just rolled out. You can now attach a location and scheduled time to matches; however, there are limitations we’re working to remove:
(1) Matches can’t be scheduled until a tournament is started. This is due to us not persisting the match records until everything is situated. The main downside is that first round matches will start (and trigger notifications) before they can be scheduled.
(2) Location and scheduled time are only visible from ‘Match Details’ modal windows. We’re still working to notate the presence of this info in the bracket without creating too much clutter.
There are several other improvements we plan to make, but I wanted to make what we have available without further delay.
Thanks everyone for your patience!
Dave

When can we expect this feature to be added? Looks like this idea was shared over six years ago! Will it ever happen?

Has any progress been made to include the time, field in line with the bracket?

Wow! long time coming.

Yes! Assigning a Table Number to each match-up would be great, and also just being able to change the "round" to a date/time would suffice temporarily until a more perfected solution. Could be as simple as clicking on the matchup (?) and assigning a number, just the same as entering in a score/winner of match.

I agree, it would really help to have match scheduling and, less important in my case but nice to have, match location (such as table number). The option for participants to set their own schedules with conflict detection would also be very useful.

I agree, it would be hugely helpful to specify the date, time and location for each game and have this show up in the brackets. Not having this feature is a major limitation that requires annoying manual workarounds.

This is really important. For our pool tournaments being able to assign tables and or dates and times would be awesome.

Any kind of scheduling feature would be great - we use this for foosball and its good to know when the other games are going on so you dont have to wait to play yours.

I agree that this is a huge missing feature. Even a simple text field where I could enter notes, comments, date, time, location of each match would be great!
Thanks for the great product!

Once game times are included, would be even better to be able to notify the teams when and where they play next once their game/match is over. This would be the icing...

This would be a huge addition.

This is a major shortcoming!
I am thrilled about challonge, but this is a serious requirement.
Playing with the html in chrome inspector, it doesn't seem like this would be extremely difficult to implement.
Thanks! -

The location of a match is sometimes important too.
In addition to what Challonge currently has, I suggest these extra attributes for each match:
- Date/Time
- Location
- Game/Match NotesIt'd be nice if they could show up too when you print the bracket, at least the date/time (and perhaps location). The Game notes could be listed as footnotes or something?

This is one of the things stopping me from switching over to Challonge; I've been using bracketmaker for the past 6 years for an annual tournament that I host.

This is the only feature lacking in Challonge that is important for running a big tournament.
