  1. Swiss for the first stage in two stage format

Currently, Swiss is available as single stage and as the final stage in two-stage format. However, in two-stage format, you cannot select Swiss as the first stage.

In many official tournaments, Swiss is the first stage and Single Elim is the second stage.

  3. Needs more seeding options

The one thing that prevents me from using Challonge only as my main bracket program is the lack of seeding options. There is no way to seed people by location which is what most people are concerned about in brackets since people from the same location should be equally separated in the bracket. There is no way to only seed a set number of players. Instead if you do that it will put everyone in order from 1 to whatever number of players are in the tournament. There is no way of combining seeding methods i.e. skill and location. These…

  4. Ladder Tournament Type

Add another tournament type. Ladder Tournaments are a seeded bracket in which seed 1 plays 2, 3 plays 4, and so on. The winner moves up a position and the loser moves down. It is run for X amount of rounds and places are determined by which position each player finishes after all round have been completed.

  5. Manually assign players to groups.

If you have a groupsize of 4 and 17 participants, one of the player will be in a group on his/her own.

If you could manually assign groups you could make, say 5 in one of the groups, or 3 groups with 3 in every group, rather than to get on person getting a bye all the way to braket-stage.

Other than that, i think Challonge is the by far best tournament organizing tool, simple and effective.

  6. Text Message Notifications

I ran a Bags/Cornhole tournament on Friday 9/12/14. Participants loved the site but had only one additional request; Can we add text message notifications for the players/participants?
I plan on using your site a lot more and can't wait to hear if it is possible to incorporate that feature.
    Thanks!

  7. Two Stage Tournament API

There are a good amount of options in the API but still a lack of support for two stage tournaments. Could this be rectified as I need this data for an application I'm making.

  8. have offline or Android app version of swiss round and round-robin generators...

Your online website is awesome, especially your simple-yet-effective Swiss Round generator, but I would like to be able to use it if I do not have access to the Internet.

An offline version for PCs/laptops and/or a cellphone app (Google Android pregerred) would probably help those without access to the Internet greatly.

I’ve been planning such an app for quite some time, but can’t say for sure when it will be ready. Android’s first in line for mobile app though.

  9. Copy a Tournament / Cup

We have recurrent Cups/ Tournament every week. Is it already possible to copy an old one with all the setting and without the thing we don't need for the new one? Thanks!

  10. Collapse completed pools

When a pool is completed in a two stage tournament, could a "Summary" option be added next to "Standings" and "Matches" that, on a single row, shows the players set to advance from that pool (e.g. http://i.imgur.com/mUlPc46.png). This would make it easier to view all the uncompleted pools without having to constantly scroll.

  11. Avoid Consecutive Games for Player in Round Robin

If a player is in the last match of a round, they should not be in the first match of the next round, so that they get a break like all other players.

An algorithm for six or more players: If both players from the last match of the last round are in the first and second matches of the next round, swap matches one and three of the round. Otherwise, if either player is in the first matches, swap matches one and two.

For five players, play the matches in the order AB CD - AE BC - DE…

  12. Add a re-seed the bracket feature

You definitely need to add a feature that allows users to re-seed the bracket once the first round is completed. A few pro leagues use this and it would be a useful addition to brackets.

Guys, thanks for the suggestion. Are there any docs out there that explain this process of reseeding in more detail?

Now that we have a check-in feature, there should be less need to drop players in the first round. We also have a group stage feature that’s incredibly close to being released, so that may further reduce the need for this — groups can be played, and then group advancers can be positioned in the final bracket as you like.

  13. Offer a 'friend's list' so I can choose from this for new challonges instead of having to enter them manually each time

My brackets are set up with the same basic group each time. I have to save my member's challonge info somewhere and plug it in each time. I'd love to be able to save these individuals to a friend's list associated with my account so I can easily add them to any future brackets.

  14. Show byes more clearly

When the system pairs an odd number of players in a swiss tournament, it of course gives a "bye" to one of them. However, you need to know the whole list of players, and see which one of them isn't in the brackets to see who is playing the Bye. Just a little text to the side of that round's bracket saying "Player 4 has a bye this round" or something similar, would make it much more intuitive.

  15. Hide completed rounds

As the bracket progresses, there are less matches each round. This leaves vertical space between each match. For example, in [winners] round 3, the vertical space between each match is three times the height of each match.
In tournaments I am involved with, the bracket is displayed on a projector. Due to this vertical space, the bracket has to be shrunk so that all the matches can fit on the projector screen. During early rounds, this is of little importance, but as the tournament progresses, it is important that the matches can be easily seen. Hiding completed rounds would allow…

  16. Triple and Quadruple Elimination Options

I looked around and I only saw a post about triple elimination tournaments from about four or five years ago. I can understand that quadruple elimination can be a huge pain to implement but I think that triple elimination would be great to see.

I would love to see a triple elimination option. Would anyone else use this?

  19. Support 3 Game Guarantee

A 3 Game Guarantee Tournament simply means that every team is guaranteed to play a minimum of 3 games. A 3 Game Guarantee Tournament is set up similar to double elimination tournaments. There is a winner's bracket and a loser's bracket, the main difference being teams that lose their first two games will get to play an extra game in the loser's bracket in order to assure everyone gets to play at least 3 games.

A team that has already won once in the winners bracket is already guaranteed 3 games as they will be playing their second game in…

  20. allow input of score as a time value instead of an integer. Example "1:23.456".

For race-like tournaments with timed results, it would be nice to input the actual time as the score, where a lower time would win. Example: "1:23.456" for 1 minute, 23 seconds and 456 milliseconds.
